Must-try Cafes & Restaurants to Eat in Macau

Posted on January 6, 2025January 6, 2025 by Ara Patria

Macau is known as the “Vegas of the East,” where every meal tells a story of cultural fusion. From traditional Macanese flavors to modern dining experiences, the city offers a diverse range of culinary delights.

This is my third time visiting Macau and I didn’t mind going back and forth here, as I definitely love their local food. I always enjoy exploring Macau’s local and even fine-dining restaurants.

Thus, if you’re seeking authentic street food or elegant fine dining, this Macau travel guide highlights the best cafes and restaurants in Macau that you must try when exploring the country.

Table of Contents

  • Best Cafes & Restaurants in Macau
    • Blossom Cafe
    • Victoria Cafe

Best Cafes & Restaurants in Macau

If you’re looking for the best places to eat in Macau, here are some of my recommendations! I listed some of the places I visited alone and with friends that I thought were the best places and a must-try when you’re in Macau.

Blossom Cafe

This is a European-style cafe that serves good food and drinks. The cafe’s interior is really nice and looks classy at the same time. This is where I enjoyed my brunch on my second day in Macau, as the cafe was conveniently located right in front of my hotel, the London Hotel.

Victoria Cafe

Victoria Cafe is a local cafe in Macau that serves authentic local food. This is where I had dinner with friends. The cafe is just near our hotel and just a few minutes walk from Senado Square.

Mr. Gung

Mr. Gung is another local restaurant that serves authentic Chinese dim sum and different varieties of pastry and specialty desserts. Mr. Gung Dim Sum can be found in various districts in Macao. Its flagship restaurant is located at the opposite of Ponte 16 or Sofitel Macau.

I would personally say that this was the best restaurant I have ever visited in Macau! The best dim sums I have ever tasted in my life so far. I must say that it’s worth trying and this is the restaurant I wouldn’t mind visiting again.

Tsui Wah Restaurant

Tsui Wah Restaurant is a luxurious restaurant that originated from Hong Kong and has a lot of branches in Macau. The one that my friends and I tried was the one located inside the Galaxy Hotel. The restaurant offers different varieties of cuisine, from Southeast Asian to East Asian, and much more.

Lei Hin Cafe

Lei Hin Cafe is another must-try cafe when in Macau. It’s a chic cafe located in Taipa Village. We tried some of their rice meals and milk tea drinks for our brunch. Everything that we ordered was really good and the price was totally reasonable!

Sei Kee Cafe

This cafe is famous for its fried pork bun and it won a few Michelin star awards. A lot of tourists are definitely coming for its well-known friend pork bun that we also tried. I must say that the pork bun was totally and me and friends shared one bun! We also tried their local milk tea that’s also a must-try!

Macau is a small country that can be a side trip for those travelers visiting Hong Kong. A lot of people say that Macau is boring and that there’s not much to do here, but personally, there’s still a lot to discover even in this small country, especially if you’re a foodie! So if you’re visiting Macau soon, you must try some of the best restaurants and cafes mentioned above!
