This is my 5th visit to Singapore, and who would’ve thought that I’d try using this Singapore Tourist Pass? I didn’t expect it to be helpful and convenient, and ultimately, it was budget-friendly! During our visit, my friend and I decided to try using this card, as we would only be exploring Singapore for three days. Since we would be riding trains a lot during the entire trip, we thought that this would be a great way to save money!
If you’re planning a trip to Singapore soon, here’s one travel tip that will make your city adventures so much easier: the Singapore Tourist Pass. This small but mighty card gives you unlimited rides on Singapore’s MRT, LRT, and public buses for a fixed price. It’s perfect for travelers who plan to explore multiple attractions in a few days without worrying about transport costs or buying tickets every time.

What Is the Singapore Tourist Pass?

The Singapore Tourist Pass (STP) is a special travel card designed for visitors who want unlimited public transport access during their stay. You can use it on all MRT (train), LRT, and public bus services across Singapore. With this pass, you can easily hop between attractions like Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay Sands, Orchard Road, Sentosa Island, and Chinatown, all without needing to top up your card or calculate fares.
How Much Does It Cost?
Singapore Tourist Pass by Singapore Tourism Board
- 3-Day Pass: Around S$30
- 5-Day Pass: Around S$40
- 7-Day Pass: Around S$50-S$60
Each pass requires a refundable SGD 10 deposit, which you can get back when you return the card to a TransitLink Ticket Office within five days after your trip.
To give you an idea, a single MRT ride usually costs between SGD 1 to 2.50, depending on the distance. So, if you plan to take at least four or five rides a day, the Tourist Pass can save you quite a bit, especially if you’re exploring multiple places in one day.
Where to Buy the Singapore Tourist Pass?

You can easily get the Singapore Tourist Pass at TransitLink Ticket Offices or automated machines located in major MRT stations, including Changi Airport MRT Station, which is the most convenient for arriving travelers.
Here’s how to buy it from the machine:
- Go to the ticketing area near the MRT gates.
- Look for the machine labeled “Singapore Tourist Pass.”
- Tap the screen and select the number of days you need (3, 5, or 7 days).
- Pay using cash or a card.
- Collect your card and receipt, and you’re ready to go!
You can start using your pass immediately and just tap in and out at the MRT gates or bus card readers like a local!

Is the Singapore Tourist Pass Worth It?
Aside from the convenience of not lining up for tickets, the Singapore Tourist Pass gives you the freedom to explore without limits. Whether you’re heading to Sentosa Island, visiting Merlion Park, enjoying street food at Lau Pa Sat, or spending your night at Clarke Quay, this pass keeps your transportation simple and affordable. Plus, public transport in Singapore is clean, efficient, and tourist-friendly, so it’s the best way to get around, even compared to taxis or ride-hailing apps.

Although in our case, we decided to keep the Singapore Tourist Pass card as a souvenir!
