How to get to Nusa Penida, Bali?

To reach Nusa Penida, you’ll need to take a ferry or speedboat from Sanur Beach in Bali. The boat ride takes around 30 to 45 minutes. Make sure to book your tickets in advance during peak seasons to avoid any inconvenience.

If you availed of the Bali package tour, including Nusa Penida Island, your tour guide will most likely take care of everything for your day tour trip to Nusa Penida.

Essential Travel Tips & Reminders

  • Rent a Scooter: The best way to explore Nusa Penida is by renting a scooter. Be cautious as some roads can be steep and challenging, so ensure you are confident in your riding abilities.
  • Pack Essentials: Bring your own snorkeling gear, sunblock, hats, and plenty of drinking water. Some beaches may not have facilities nearby, so be prepared.
  • Mind the Tides: Plan your beach visits around the tides, as some areas may be inaccessible during high tide.
  • Respect the Environment: Nusa Penida’s pristine beauty depends on responsible tourism. Avoid leaving any trash behind and adhere to eco-friendly practices.
  • Stay Hydrated: The tropical climate can be quite hot and humid, so stay hydrated throughout your adventures.

Kelingking Beach

Definitely the highlight of our Nusa Penida trip! It’s like your trip is not complete without visiting Kelingking Beach. This iconic cliff overlooks a pristine beach with turquoise waters, forming a T-Rex-like shape. It offers a breathtaking view from the top but be prepared for a challenging hike down to the beach.

In our case, since we didn’t have much time, unfortunately, we did not stay for long and the queue for picture taking was pretty long. I didn’t really get to enjoy the beach and the view that much!

Angel’s Billabong and Broken Beach

This is a natural infinity pool formed by rock cliffs and a collapsed cave; Angel’s Billabong is a picturesque spot for a refreshing dip. Nearby, Broken Beach showcases a stunning natural archway over crystal-clear waters.

Crystal Bay

This is one of the island’s most famous beaches. Crystal Bay offers excellent snorkeling opportunities and a relaxing atmosphere for sunbathing.

Atuh Beach

Although it’s not a traditional waterfall, the unique blue stairs leading to the sea offer an exhilarating experience with spectacular ocean views.

Tree House
